When Nanda Wisson began to do a little research into Abbotsley's past, she found so many snippets that it grew into the Abbotsley Book. Many villagers made contributions to the book, turning out cupboards and attics to search for old photographs. The book was finished in 1978. An open evening was held to show the book to all the villagers and was attended by over 100 people.
Nanda spent months searching archives, museums and libraries for details on Abbotsley, as many village documents were destroyed by a fire some years ago. Mr Sidney Jeffs made a big contribution having kept a diary of his life and he attended the open evening. The final draft was prepared by Barbara Ward.
