Jonathan and Mary Storey
Jonathan & Mary Storey in their later years. Jonathan (1860-1933) was the son of Thomas and Ann Storey (nee Barringer). Mary Storey ( nee Snitch) (1864-1936) was the daughter of Henry and Emma Snitch ( nee Seaton). Jonathan worked as a farm labourer in his youth progressing to farm foreman/manager. He and Mary are believed to have started their married life in an old cottage in Pantile Row ( long ago demolished) but subsequently also lived at different times in Church Farmhouse in Blacksmiths Lane, Glebe House opposite the Church and there is also a reference to them living at one time at the White House, all presumably as part of his farming employment. Jonathan and Mary were married at Abbotsley Church on 18th January 1884 and they are both buried in the Churchyard.
