Elizabeth Cade (nee Newson) was born in 1844 in Limehouse, Middlesex. Her parents were John Newson (born 1821) and Elizabeth Boaz (born 1824). On 28th Oct 1867 she married John Robert Cade at Waltham Green, St. John, Middlesex and lived in Barking, Middlesex for the beginning of their marriage until after 1881. By 1891 they had moved to his home village Abbotsley where they ran the village shop on the Green in the last part of the 19th century and up to 1911 when they retired. Their daughter Maud Ruth and her husband George Storey took over. The 1891 and 1901 census show that Elizabeth’s mother, listed as Elizabeth Boaz in 1901, lived with them in Abbotsley.
They had eight children: John Robert Cade 1868 – 1937, Annie Louise Cade 1870 – 1932, William George Cade 1873 – 1881, Elizabeth Fanny Cade 1874 – 1951, Minnie Rebecca Cade 1878 – , Edward Banks Cade 1881 – 1957, Joseph William Cade 1884 – , Maud Ruth Cade 1885 – 1973
She died in Abbotsley in 1926.
